Since 2002, Heartland has provided life-saving programs to over 11,000 dogs and cats in need, and this year we continued to serve our mission by ensuring that we saved the most vulnerable animals from our partners both local and nationwide. We also continued to ensure that we bridged as many life-saving gaps as possible by becoming a safety net for animals that needed someone to say that their life is worth saving. It is because of all of your support that we were able to say “yes” to 877 lives, most of which came to us with minor or major medical concerns. We could not have done any of this without you!
As a community, we came together to make certain that, even through continued hardship and change, animals were finding their way into forever homes. In the face of adversity, our community of animal lovers and volunteers did not slow down but rather created new, unique ways of bridging the gaps throughout the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, and ensured that we supported our partners as they experienced an increase in their populations unlike anything they have seen before. The world continued to change this year, but our life-saving and community support efforts, including our free vaccine clinics which helped 1,166 animals this year, never stopped and we will end this yearwith some incredible intake and adoption stories.
We are very proud to provide Heartland’s accomplishments from 2021 at the end of this email.
This upcoming year, as we settle into our new home in Wheeling, our goals include increasing our life-saving efforts across all programs and continue to work collaboratively with the community around us, through our community-based programs, to increase our impact. We will also be launching our capital campaign in the upcoming months and we could not be more proud of what that means to all of us and the animals of Heartland. There is so much to be excited for!
