National Feral Cat Day is on Wednesday, October 16th. We will be teaching our supporters how to do TNR (trap-neuter-return), which is the process of humanely trapping outdoor feral cats, getting them spayed/neutered, microchipped and ear tipped, and returned to their outdoor homes. Feral cats are those who are not socialized to humans and are happiest and healthiest living outdoors in managed colonies. Spaying and neutering them is essential to stabilizing and reducing the outdoor population over time, resulting in less kittens being admitted to shelters.
We have done TNR and provided support, guidance and resources to help over 100 cats since 2018. We are looking for new volunteers to join our TNR team so if you would like to join us in learning more and helping feral cats this October, please email us for more details.
