Saving lives is something we do each day at Heartland. Whether we are rescuing animals from open-intake shelters, treating puppies with parvovirus, bottle-feeding newborn kittens or rehabilitating animals who were neglected, we make sure to give everyone who enters our door an opportunity to survive, thrive and find a forever home. This annual holiday giving campaign helps us provide medical care, food, housing and extra love to each animal under our care while they await adoption.
Barnabyy, Scotie and Xandder are just a few of the more than 100 animals at the shelter sending you their gratitude for your generosity this holiday season.
Not even a year old, Barnabyy is Mr. Congeniality around other dogs. This adorable brown and white mix is sweet, loving and playful. Like all puppies, he just needs some training and patience. Barnabyy will be a wonderful companion to his adopter!
Scotie is a two-year-old tabby whose favorite pastime is napping. He is a low-key boy who enjoys petting and attention from volunteers and visitors. Scotie has been with us for a year so we’d love to see him get a home for the holidays!
Xandder has never met a dog he didn’t like. This two-year-old boy is a big kid at heart. He is a staff and volunteer favorite too. Xandder is deaf but super smart and able to learn hand commands. All he needs is an experienced dog owner with delicious treats!
