Create a Legacy of Compassion

Including Heartland Animal Shelter in your estate planning can extend your values and support of homeless animals to subsequent generations, creating a legacy of hope for at-risk or vulnerable cats and dogs. Making an enduring gift to us through your will, trust or other plan will allow us to continue to support the animals who will continue to depend on our programs and services for many years to come. Please consult your legal or financial advisor to make the decision that is right for you and then join our ongoing efforts to save animals in need.

If you have decided to make Heartland Animal Shelter a part of your legacy, consider notifying us. This is your gift to the future and we have the highest respect for your wishes so we want to make sure we can honor them as you intend. We realize that circumstances change and your gift to us may no longer be possible at some future date. You can change your mind at any time.

It is important to also consider making provisions for your pet in your will or trust. Heartland Animal Shelter may be able to become the provider for your cat or dog through our Lifetime Care Program if you do not have friends or family members who can care for them once you are gone. This program requires an approved bequest agreement in advance, so please contact us to discuss this program further.
